Abstract

Polypharmacy in elderly patients poses significant risk for the occurrence of drug‐drug interaction, especially when the patient or caregiver decides to manage discomfort via self‐medication with over‐the‐counter medications or prescription drugs. The following report described a case of adverse serotonergic and cholinergic reaction in an elderly patient after self‐medication.
