Abstract

Power distribution is one of user networks in electrical transmission distribution system which always concern with losses and drop voltages. These losses are influenced by the current flows, area and the length of the cable. Simulations were conducted to find drop voltages percentage on RA.04 and KN.03 feeders on Rantauprapat distribution network as frequent disruption occurred in KN.03 feeder. The disruption is predicted caused by long distribution distance from the main station. Simulations and analysis were performed by using ETAP 12.6.0. Simulation results and manual calculation are not distinguishable. The highest drop voltage was in the furthest buses, bus 753 connected to KN.03 feeder with receive voltage level of 76.72% and bus 227 and load ZD.106 connected to RA.04 feeder with receive voltage level of 99.34%. The drop voltage on KN.03 is higher than the acceptable rate of 5 %. This calculation can be made as the basis for optimization decision such by enlarging the conductor diameter, applying capacitor bank, adjusting 20 kV transformer tap or moving the KN.03 feeder to the closer main station.
