Abstract

Droplet sizing is achieved by means of a corrected (top-hat) laser technique. The droplets (isopropyl alcohol and rhodamine-B solution) are obtained from a TSI 3050 generator of 'monodispersed' particles. Results are tested against Gabor holography measurements, nominal values from the generator specifications, and (when relevant) against rigorous Lorenz-Mie theory.
