Abstract

This article is an attempt to create a narrative about curatorial practices using the symbolism of the Great Arcana of the tarot. Each card has an individual meaning that allows it to be interpreted. Through the analysis of individual cards and their use in constructing a story, the protagonist of which is curator Ernesta Thot, a half-fictional, half-real story is created. This article aims to explore the extent to which literary narrative can not only tell us something about the profession of art curator, but also whether it is possible to read their activities through tarot cards. In addition, the article aims at showing that inspiration for the creation of stories about art can also be drawn from experiments on the borderline between curatorial and artistic projects, which is also the case with the reconstruction of Thot's biography, which has already been carried out regularly in various periodicals.
