Abstract

Drive voltage dependence of electromechanical resonance has been investigated in PLZT piezoelectric ceramics. With increasing the ac drive voltage, some electromechanical parameters change remarkably: the resonance frequency fm decreases, the anti-resonance frequency fn does not shift, the mechanical quality factor Qm decreases drastically, and the electromechanical coupling factor kr increases. On the contrary, these parameters do not change significantly with changing the dc bias voltage, keeping the ac voltage amplitude. The changes in the parameters can be computer-simulated theoretically by introducing non-linear capacitive and resisitive terms into an electrical equivalent circuit.
