Abstract

In this paper an expression is derived for the drive point impedance of an infinite plate under tension. It is shown that at high frequencies the bending behavior is dominant, and at low frequencies the membrane behavior is dominant. In general an orthotropic plate under tension behaves like a resistance and stiffness combined in parallel.
