Abstract
The article discusses the connection between earthquakes and oil and gas production. Topics covered include the sixfold increase in earthquakes in the Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) area in Texas, the observation by geologist David Evans that the volume and pressure of hazardous waste injections into the oil well at a chemical weapons plant outside Denver, Colorado corresponded with earthquake rates, and the rise of wastewater injection wells due to the emergence of horizontal drilling.
