Abstract

Abstract The transformation theory developed by the Brussels school is applied to equilibrium quantum plasmas at finite temperature. As a consequence, a description of the plasma in terms of dressed particles is induced; the followinf properties are seen to hold: • - The distribution function ϕ( v ) of the dressed particles is a Fermi distribution. • - The entropy may be written as the entropy of independent dressed particles. • - The total energy is related to ϕ( v ) through the same variational dependence as in Landau's theory of the Fermi liquid.
