Abstract

ABSTRACT Athree-point dynamometer* suitable for use with either Catagory I or II tractors, was designed and constructed. Signals from a strain gage bridge were conditioned and were originally recorded on a simple strip chart recorder. At the present time, data are stored in a micro-computer located in the tractor cab. Data are then transferred to a cassette tape in the field for later analysis. The dynamometer has been used in replicated tests and field trials for several years, while the micro-computer data collection system has been used for two years as part of the instrumentation used in a study of tillage energy.
