Abstract
In connection with the task of revising the species of Dicranum so far published in my Musci Acrocarpi, I was led to compare our North American treatment of this genus' with that of Dr. Brotherus in his Laubmoose Fennoskandias. Dr. Brotherus has split the genus Dicranum into the following genera: i. He has referred Dicranum hyperboreum to Cynodontium, following Dr. Hagen. 2. D. fulvellum and D. Anderssonii he places under Arctoa, raised to generic rank.
