Abstract

The field of radio communication always demands high data rate, large bandwidth, low Bit Error Rate and flexible adaptability to different technologies. The Radio Over Fiber (ROF) technology in which the modulated radio frequency signals are optically modulated and transported through the optical fibers, largely reduce the installation costs and complexity. The present work describes a low-cost DPSK based full duplex two channel ROF communication system between a central station and two base stations in which the optical carrier frequency in the downlink is recovered and reused in the uplink communication.
