Doxycycline Post Exposure Prophylaxis could induce cross-resistance to other classes of antimicrobials in Neisseria gonorrhoeae: an in-silico analysis.

Abstract

We found that tetracycline resistance associated mutations and genes in Neisseria gonorrhoeae are linked to mutations causing resistance to other antimicrobials. Therefore, the use of doxycycline PEP may select for resistance to other antimicrobials.
