Abstract
In this correspondence, the bit error rate(BER)performance of interleave division multiple access (IDMA) system using space-time transmit diversity and polarization diversity over correlated frequency-selective channels is evaluated for down-link(DL)communication. Space-time Block code is used Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (MIMO) to achieve spatial diversity. STBC architecture using single dual-polarized antenna both at the base station (BS) and each mobile station (MS) is implemented. Maximum Likelihood (ML) detector is used at each MS to estimate the desired users' signals. It is shown through the results that the better performance is achieved using dual-polarized STBC-IDMA system by realizing compact size of Mobile unit for DL communication.
