Abstract

In this paper, a coupled monomode step-index optical fiber system is under investigation, which can be governed by a coupled Schrodinger equation. Though extending the Jacobi elliptic function method in complex form, a series of Jacobi elliptic function solitons are obtained for the equation. These solutions can be expressed in the form of doubly periodic waves. When the modulus of Jacobi elliptic function tends to 1, the bright and dark optical solitons are observed. Furthermore, the modulus of Jacobi elliptic function can control the periodic wave density. The wave width and direction of the solitons are effected by parameters.
