Abstract

The calculation of the doubly excited 1F 0 states of two-electron ions is performed within the framework of a recently proposed time-dependent variation-perturbation theory (TDVPT). Most of the excitation energies reported here are new, and good agreement with other existing results is obtained with a very limited basis size. The consistency of the doubly excited analytic wave-functions derived from this study is checked by evaluating the Coulomb repulsion terms in these states.
