Abstract

Double-differential neutron emission cross sections of 9Be have been measured for incident neutron energies from about 2 to 11 MeV. Time-of-flight was used to measure the energy of incident neutrons. The energy spectra of neutrons emitted from the Be sample were obtained by unfolding the pulse-height spectra observed in eight NE-213 liquid scintillator detectors viewing the sample under different angles with respect to the incident beam. The data were normalized to the 12C elastic scattering cross section at about 2 MeV.
