Abstract

In this paper, a double-beam amplifier of traveling wave and backward wave is investigated. We use folded waveguide slow wave structure combined with two different planar alignment electron beams, aim to simulate traveling and backward wave amplifier(TBA). The traveling wave and backward wave output powers of TBA with two different beams folded waveguide are 2.08W and 1.94W by particle in cell (PIC) simulations. It is notable that the output power of TBA is higher than double-beam folded waveguide TWT with the same parameters. What's more, we find that the TBA helps the backward wave to energize, reduces the time of oscillation and makes the output power stabilization.
