Abstract

A double waveguide (DW) method is proposed to retrieve the electromagnetic (EM) parameters of biaxial anisotropic materials. The material under test in this method is not needed to change its orientation, making the measurement much easier. Accurate closed forms are given to predict the constitutive material parameters by using the correlation relationship between the DWs. As a proof-of-concept example, one homogeneous biaxial anisotropic medium is considered. The material parameters are numerically extracted using the DW method, which are in good agreement with the given ones, indicating the method is effective.
