Abstract

Hippocampal abnormalities are widely reported in schizophrenia and psychosis-risk states. Given the complexity of hippocampal structure/function, we conducted a more granular examination of intrinsic (the trisynaptic circuit comprising dentate gyrus, CA1 and CA3) and extrinsic circuitry, and hippocampal shape using ultra-high-field high-resolution MRI (7T) on 18 familial high-risk (FHR) (age=30.83±3.85 years) and 35 control (age=28.25±3.91 years) subjects.
