Abstract

Discontinuitiessuchastipsandedgescausediffracted fields when electromagnetic waves interact with objects. Two-di- mensional (2D) wedge with non-penetrable boundaries is a canon- icalstructurewhichhaslongbeeninvestigatedanalyticallyandnu- mericallyfortheunderstandingandextractionofdiffractedwaves. Multiple-diffraction has also been investigated. Here, double tip diffraction is modeled with both finite-difference time-domain and method of moments and reference data are generated. Index Terms—Diffraction, double diffraction, double tips, fi- nite difference time domain (FDTD), high frequency asymtotics, method of moments (MoM).
