Abstract
A design method to amplify the magnetic fields in the high-frequency (HF) band by a planar double-loop coil is known. We applied the design method to double-solenoid ferrite coils for amplifying magnetic fields in the low-frequency (LF) and medium-frequency (MF) bands. It was demonstrated that the design method can be applied to the ferrite coils operating in the LF and MF bands. Hence, the design method is applicable to magnetic field amplification without increasing the power consumption in the frequency range from the LF to HF bands. This feature is useful for reducing power consumption of short-range wireless applications such as radio frequency identification (RFID) and wireless power transmission (WPT).
