Abstract

Waveguide low pass filters (LPFs) are used widely in satellite payload for its stop-band performance. Design procedure for double ridged waveguide LPF with wider stop-band is presented in this paper, the rectangular and ridged waveguide discontinuity junctions are simulated by modal S- matrix method, and such waveguide junctions and waveguide sections are cascaded to obtain the whole S-parameters of LPF. Final, the structure parameters of LPF are achieved through optimization. As an example, a Ku-band double ridged waveguide LPF is realized, and the measured response agree well with the predicted values.
