Abstract

A method based on thin-layer chromatographic separation of radioactive products is described for the determination and the quantification of dopamine (DA), noradrenaline (NA), adrenaline (A), normetanephrine (NMN), and serotonin (5HT) in small samples of brain tissue. In this method the amines are converted to [ 14C]dansyl derivatives by reaction with [ 14C]dansyl chloride [ 14C]Dans-C1) and 3H-labeled amines are used as internal standards to determine variations in yield.
