Abstract

In the body balance process control a variety of postural strategies for balance recovery are used. Postural strategies are the automatic stable muscular patterns. Such a mechanism reduces the degrees of freedom number, simplifies and speeds up the adjustment of the posture and minimizes energy expenditure. They are connected with the existence of some motor coordination sets and describes three mobility strategies: ankle, hip and step strategy. The hip strategy occurs when interference is greater or the use of ankle strategy is impossible, for example due to the delay of postural information cycle. This occurs when a person stands on a platform smaller than the feet surface area, where the toes and heel are not supporting the body. In the frontal plane, this strategy depends on the location and size of the application of an external acting force. The article presents an analysis of the pendulums in relation to the issue of maintaining the balance by man.
