Abstract

The copper(I) ethylene complex of 2-hydroxyquinoxaline, [Cu(Hhq)2(C2H4)]ClO4, was synthesized and characterized crystallographically. The cations of the complex are linked to each other by a head-to-tail double H bond to form a one-dimensional infinite zigzag chain structure, and the planes of the ligands are stacked next to each other, forming a cooperative system of H bonds and π−π interactions.
