Abstract

Probabilities and cross sections of the helium 2s 2 1S e and 2s2p 1P o autoionizing states excitation in collisions of multicharged ions with helium have been calculated with allowance for the configuration interaction at ion energies ranging from 0.5 to 10 MeV/u. The excitation mechanisms for the helium 2s 2 1S and 2s2p 1P autoionizing states have been determined and the role of the continuous spectrum states at the helium double-electron excitation has been examined. The present results are in good agreement with the available experimental data.
