Abstract

A microstrip antenna is designed for phased array applications. The new design consists of two parallel dipoles of different lengths to achieve multi-resonances, and consequently, wide bandwidth and stable radiation patterns. The antenna is simple and small in size, and provides more than 88% bandwidth, stable endfire radiation patterns, high gain and low cross polarization level. In addition, two-element arrays of this antenna have low mutual coupling between elements.
