Valentine, MD The double-channel endoscopic technique is an effective means of removal of large pedunculated polyps that is suitable for excision of polyps that cannot be removed by standard endoscopic techniques. The removal of large pedunculated polyps may be technically difficult in a tortuous sigmoid colon. The procedure may become more challenging because of the size of the polyp, thus making it difficult to get a standard elliptical or hexagonal snare over the head of the polyp.
