Abstract

Thirteen hundred teeth were sectioned vertically in order to study their root canal morphology. A high incidence of double canals in single roots was found, and this was especially true in the mesiobuccal root of the maxillary molars. Careful exploration of the pulpal floor is indicated if these additional major canals are to be detected clinically.
