Abstract

A 50-year-old man presented to the emergency department with acute-onset tearing chest pain for 1 h. He was having tachycardia with a heart rate of 100 beats/min and blood pressure was 90/60 mm Hg in both upper limbs. Auscultation revealed a grade 3/6 systolic late peaking murmur and a high pitched early diastolic murmur in the aortic area. Electrocardiogram showed left ventricular hypertrophy with strain pattern. Echocardiogram revealed a dilated ascending aorta along with a thickened calcific aortic valve with moderate aortic stenosis and moderate aortic regurgitation.
