Abstract

Presents original experimental and theoretical data for the autoionisation of helium by electron impact at 100 eV energy. The results concern the ejected electron angular distributions, consequent on the decay of the (2s2)1S, (2s2p)3P, (2p2)1D and (2s2p)1P autoionising levels, for a scattering angle of 15 degrees and an average over scattered electron directions. Generally good agreement is obtained between theory and experiment, except at large ejection angles for the double differential cross sections.
