Abstract

Tables of dose factors for linear radium sources have been calculated using an electronic computer. These Tables are more detailed than have been published previously. They give values of a function proportional to the dose-rate at points on a rectangular grid surrounding the source. Each Table is applicable to any source of the specified filtration and diameter. The paper discusses the values of the constants used in the calculations. In particular, the value of the absorption coefficient of radium γ rays in platinum has been taken as a function of the absorber thickness.
