Abstract

A previously undescribed lesion of Dupuytren's disease is presented. Between the level of the proximal interphalangeal joint and that of the distal interphalangeal joint, the extensor tendon expansion was found to be involved in an actively contracting nodule of Dupuytren's disease. Resection of this nodule restored full extensor tendon excursion. The lesion was quite distinct from the classic knuckle pad' lesion seen in similar patients with a strong diathesis.
