Abstract
Doppler broadening lineshapes and positron annihilation characteristics were determined as a function of additive concentration in aqueous solutions of selected silver and sodium salts. Evidence is presented that indicates that positronium formation and reactions are affected by anions, and that Ps interacts differently with Cl − and S 2O 2- 3, than with NO − 3, ClO − 3, and ClO − 4. Multi-parameter measurements may distinguish between the mechanisms of triplet — singlet spin conversion and chemical reactions.
