Abstract

1. Dopamine increases cAMP production in the salivary gland ofNauphoeta cinerea. 2. This effect is mimicked by 6,7-ADTN and blocked by fluphenazine. 3. Although dopamine is a neurotransmitter in this tissue and elicits fluid secretion and hyperpolarization, the physiological significance of the biochemical effect of dopamine is unknown.
