Abstract

1. Complexes of Si-substituted aroxy- and (aroxymethyl) silanes with phenol and TCE were studied by the methods of IR and UV spectroscopy. 2. The n- and π-donor properties of compounds in which there are no p-π interacting O and Si atoms decrease with increasing electron-acceptor properties of the substituent of the Si atom. The basicity of compounds with organosilicon substituents, bonded directly to the O atom, is determined by their summary electronic effect. The transmission coefficient of the O atom in the compounds studied is constant.
