Abstract

Abstract Tauch mountain southeast of the Mouthoumet Paleozoic massif, France, is composed of Aptian and Cenomanian (Cretaceous) deposits and has generally been considered a remnant of the Mesozoic sedimentary cover which formerly capped the massif. The Cretaceous deposits of the mountain are folded, and the structure may represent a second-order thrust without an overturned flank. The mechanics of emplacement are discussed.
