Abstract
The author re-examines the Sasanian cities in Fars (Jūr /Fīrūzābād, Bīsāpūr, Istakhr) and Khuzestan (two cities of Jundi Sāpūr) through the archaeological evidence. He began by describing the above-mentioned prominent cities and added the results of new archaeological researches for a better understanding of urban development during the Sasanian period.
