DON’T STRESS THE KIDNEYS: ROLE OF CARDIAC MRI IN DIAGNOSIS OF MIDVENTRICULAR VARIANT OF STRESS CARDIOMYOPATHY

Abstract

Stress cardiomyopathy is characterized by transient left ventricular (LV) dysfunction in the setting of emotional or physical stress. Typical pattern is apical ballooning (75-80%) with a less common variant characterized by hypokinesis of the mid-LV (10-20%). As it mimics acute coronary syndrome (
