Abstract

Silvio Zavala qualified as the first scientific professional historian of Mexico, approached with rigor themes as the conquest of America, the right of the war, the human rights, of the institutional history, the Indian rights, up to the naval and maritime history. Also he was an active promoter of the First Days of History of the Native Law and member of the Publishing Advice of the Mexican Yearbook of History of the Law. This work abounds in his thought, his contributions to the juridical science, and does an inventory of his publications as historiographic instrument.
