Abstract

The study of the circulation of books and libraries of humanists in the North is certainly one of the most fruitful approaches to bring a better understanding to the spread of the Renaissance and Italianism beyond the Alps. This is why we thought it opportune to reassert the reading preferences of the former secretary of the Prince-Bishops of Liège, Dominicus Lampsonius, founding father of the history of Flemish art and member of the great European humanist and artistic networks. Especially since new elements have just been added, such as the phenomenon of reception which will here be addressed as an active process of assimilation and transformation of ancient or Italian ideas.
