Abstract

ON the theory of Franceschetti1,2 there are two series of multiple alleles for defective colour vision, one series responsible for deuteranopia (D), extreme deuteranomaly (EDA) and deuteranomaly (DA), and the other for protanopia (P), extreme protanomaly (EPA) and protanomaly (PA). His theory suggests that there is a dominance order for each series, such that the genes producing the lesser defects are dominant to those producing the greater, and that the two normal genes are most dominant.
