Abstract
Domestication of the Ceiling Fan George David Clark (bio) The octopus above our heads spent all day eating what we fed her all last night: the sweat we bled in silence, confessions no one said, our first poor sleep as newlyweds. A glowing lobe is how she begs the issue: what we’ll do instead of fighting now that evening’s led us back here, now we’ve finally read a question from the tests ahead. If you’ll reach up and pull the thread, she’ll clink and jerk her flat black legs [End Page 44] to ink night cool across our bed.
