Abstract
The user can access web search engine at any time from anywhere to find information present on the internet or the World Wide Web. The internet is full of millions of pages which provide information related to user’s query. The criticality lies in the fact that results of search engines should be a set of pages or links which are reliable and satisfies the need of the user. The efficiency of a search engine to understand users’ query and provide results also forms the basis of evaluation. The method adopted in this paper establishes Efficiency, Satisfaction, and Reliability as three important parameters to evaluate search engine. Authors also introduce and define Trust Factor and Degree of Verification in this research. The aim of this study is to determine the efficiency of Search Engines, user satisfaction and reliability of search engine results based on an experiment which was conducted on working professionals employed in various domains like software companies, law firms, banks, educational institutes, Government, etc.
