Abstract

The manuscript deals with the study of the FLRW universe together with domain walls and quark matter in f(R, T) gravity where R is the Ricci scalar and T is the trace of the energy momentum tensor. We choose $$f(R,T)=R+\alpha R^2+\lambda T$$ . Exact solutions are obtained under the assumptions: (1) a constant and variable deceleration parameter of the form $$q=m-1$$ and $$q=-\frac{\alpha _3}{t^2}+\beta -1$$ , $$\alpha _3\ne 0$$ and (2) an equation of the state of the form $$p_m=(\gamma -1)\rho _m$$ and $$p_m=\frac{1}{3}(\rho _m-4B_c)$$ . The physical quantities involved in the cosmological models are obtained and analysed graphically. The solutions obtained here are most general which reduce to the solutions in general relativity, f(R, T) theory and higher derivative theory with suitable choices of the parameters.
