Abstract
Abstract A theoretical model which predicts a strongly temperature-dependent domain structure in MD magnetite grains is presented. The temperature dependence of domain structure is of a great interest in rock magnetism because: (1) a number of direct observations of domain structure demonstrate a strongly temperature-dependent pattern; (2) domain structure rearrangement is believed to be an important physical mechanism in thermoremanence aquisition.
