Abstract

The influence of large magnetic in-plane field pulses was investigated in the domain structure of garnet films. For quantitative evaluation, correlation coefficients of domain structure images before and after the field pulse were calculated. Essential changes in domain structure form were observed in fields much lower than the anisotropy field, but for short rise times and low anisotropy fields only. It is shown that the effect can be related to quasistochastic oscillations of magnetization.
