Abstract

This paper presents a domain decomposition (DD) framework to hybridize various numerical techniques for the solution of electrically large electromagnetic (EM) problems. The present method is largely composed of two major ingredients; 1) an efficient and effective FEM domain decomposition method (DDM) for the solution of sub-region problems. The current DDM is capable of taking advantage of both translational and rotational symmetries and is equipped with Krylov subspace solvers. 2) The application of the adaptive cross approximation algorithm for fast computation of inter-region interactions.
