Abstract
Animal welfare has been gaining prominence on the world stage in recent years. This observation highlights the need of production systems to adapt to rational cattle taming techniques when carrying out management. There is a growing demand for reconciling ethics, animal health, productivity and profitability within breeding systems. Visibility at the level of well-being has also shown the lack of work, research and human resources capable of adapting management actions to the premises of well-being. Therefore, it is necessary to understand the concept of taming, ethology and bovine welfare, which culminate in the teaching of techniques used by specialists to achieve the ideal management of cattle. The objective of this review is to describe the rational taming of cattle to expose its importance as a perspective for teaching animal welfare.
