Abstract

While reading briefs submitted to federal courts, appellate court decisions, and the websites of respected law schools, it became apparent that neither the attorneys nor the Ninth Circuit judges are doing any verification of the text of cited session laws. In some cases, the variances among the session laws cited and the actual text is so dramatic as to render any decision based on these claims suspect.
